Steve Cunningham, M.Ac., LMT, RPSGT

Steve graduated from Muscular Therapy Institute, in Cambridge MA. He has also completed advanced training in Trager Approach with Deane Juhan and Structural Integration techniques with Tom Meyers.
Steve is a Licensed Massage Therapist and Bodyworker and received his Masters Degree from the New England School of Acupuncture, specializing in Chinese and Japanese styles of acupuncture. During this time he completed Clinical Interships at Dimock Community Hospital in Roxbury, The Elderly Care Project in Lynn, and at Pathways Holisitic Medicine Clinic in Boston, MA. |
Prior to his massage and bodywork career, Steve worked for over 17 years in Sleep Disorders Medicine and Sleep Research. He is a Nationally Registered Polysomnographic Sleep Technologist and was formerly the Technical Director for the Sleep Disorders centers at Brigham and Woman’s Hospital and SleepHealth Centers. He has authored over 20 scientific articles in sleep research and has presented his research at numerous national scientific meetings.
Steve is especially interested in the interplay between structural alignment (posture) and mental and physical health as well as the relationship between life-event stressors and illness. His other interests inclue: yoga, mysticism, and shamanic studies.
